Powerful Lesson From ER

This is truly powerful. Make sure you take time to watch ...

How would you explain the Gospel to a person who was literally on their deathbed? What would you say?

Are You Ready?

So, are you?

Wow!

I was looking through my posts today on here and Facebook and I have come to realize that I really like exclamation points.

And, that might be a bit of an understatement. :P

What Is The Gospel?

| 1 Comment | 1 TrackBack
There is only one Gospel! All others are false gospels! If you can't preach it to the African dying at the hands of Muslims for the faith or if you can't preach it to the man in a Chinese prison being tortured for the faith ... then you have no business preaching it! Jesus died not so we can be rich, not so we can have expensive things, not so we can pretend God is a dog on a leash waiting for a word from us, and not so we can have our best life now. He died so that we can be SAVED!

And what is really sad is most Christians cannot even articulate the Gospel.

Review: Compelled 2 Go

Our church participated in Dominic Galati, Jr's Compelled 2 Go "Power 2 Tell" School of Personal Impact this weekend. It is an evangelistic training course that was created to equip Christians to get out of their pews and into their neighborhoods, sharing their faith as they go. Bro. Galati is engaging, entertaining and definitely has a heart for the lost. I enjoyed the weekend very much.

What I Liked The Most:

  • The use of a survey to dialogue with the unsaved.
  • The use of tracts.
  • Working in teams of two.
  • Easy and straight-forward.
  • Very practical.
  • Opens the door to disciple new believers.
  • Gets the "church" out of the church.
  • Reaching out to the lost!

What I Wasn't Crazy About:

  • The use of the Sinner's Prayer.
  • The focus on "decisions" for Christ.
  • Could have spent a bit more time on the training.

Why does the use of the Sinner's Prayer bother me? Well, I think it opens up the door to false conversions. Many people will go through that prayer just to get rid of you and even more will think that they are saved just because they said that prayer. And that leaves you wondering how many of those "decisions" for Christ are actually real.

All in all, it does give you some good sound tools to take to the streets and evangelize your city or town for the lost. I really do like the survey used, so there is no need to throw out the baby with the bath water. But, I do strongly recommend one take into consideration the reality of false conversion. You may want to alter the presentation to account for that.

Reformation Day Outreach

As many of you know, I am involved in a ministry that participates in street evangelism and this picture is from our latest outreach. We were given permission to setup outside of a local fast food restaurant and hand out goodie bags that contained an ESV NT, Creepy Cash, and some candy. It was a wonderful time for us and we were able to hand out 200 bags!

Of course, I just had to share this picture of my husband. I love it!
In her own words ...

'When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice," [Abby] Johnson told FoxNews.com. But after seeing the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, "I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart ... a spiritual conversion."
Praise God! I hope that spiritual conversion to a pro-life stance has or will lead to another conversion of the "born again" variety. :)

On A Corner

Today I stood on the busiest corner of my town with a wooden cross that says, "Are You Ready?" on it. I stood there for approximately forty-five minutes as people drove past me in their cars. Some looked at me. Some made sure not to look at me. Some looked away as soon as I made eye contact with them. Some nodded their heads in affirmation and encouragement. Some scowled and looked at me like I was insane.

Some of the people that drove by me did double-takes. Others about broke their necks as they turned to look as they drove around the corner. Some made a block and drove back by just to see if what they were seeing was really real. Some even smiled and waved. And as they drove past me with their various responses ... all I could do was sing under my breath to the Lord and pray that all who saw the cross would be touched by the Holy Spirit and that they would look deep inside of themselves and answer the question ...

Are You Ready?

Because I want them to know. I want them to think about that.

So, I stood on a corner and probably looked like a fool to many ... but that is okay. It was worth it and I will do it again. Soon ... the Lord willing.

Because as the man said, who stopped at the light, "Be proud of what you are doing, young lady. You won't get to do it too much longer!"
