If You Want To Help

I have had a couple of people write me and tell me that they would love to make a donation to help our youth get to Brussels, Beligium for Spring Break. This is a once in a lifetime trip for these kids and we have struggled to raise the funds to get them there. We are working hard to raise the money but with Winter Storm '09, a lot of people are just donated out ... even our local businesses like Wal-Mart. It has really left us struggling.

I have wracked my brains trying to figure out a way to take donations without making the parents at our church nervous and I have come up with PayPal. It works. I have an account with them and have since 2000. You don't have to have an account to use them. So, if you are interested in helping us out ... we would so appreciate it. I am not asking for a certain amount. Whatever you can give is money we don't have.

I have placed a nifty donation button in my sidebar for your convenience. Thank you!

Sweet, done. Thanks for a great solution.

Now, when they get back, the girls need to post about their trip, right?

That is an awesome idea! I will definitely have them do that. :)

And, thanks for the donation! The girls are tickled with the idea of taking them online.

Yeah, they'll be trying to figure out how to keep that button up there for their allowances, college funds . . . Hey . . . I might be on to something. How'd you get that thingy there? :)

Oh no! A few years back a lot of blog owners decided to put them on their blogs just to get money. I blog for enjoyment, not for pay. I never liked the idea and have no interest in it. When the girls have their money ... it will come down! :)

As for where I got it ... Paypal. They do come in handy at times.

Oh, I'm with you. Not in it for money (I'd be on the streets in a week if it were). But for their purposes in raising mission trip funds, it's a lot like the cans at Sam's Club.

Oh yeah! I think it is an awesome way to do so and am kicking my butt for not thinking of it sooner. :) I think Amazon has a similar service ... or at least they used to.
