An article in The New York Times states ...
Barack Obama has selected the Rev. Rick Warren, the evangelical pastor and author of "The Purpose Driven Life," to deliver the invocation at his inauguration, a role that positions Mr. Warren to succeed Billy Graham as the nation's pre-eminent minister and reflects the generational changes in the evangelical Christian movement. (emphasis mine)
I have nothing against Rick Warren. I don't always agree with him and sometimes he says things that make me go, "huh?" But, I don't in any way shape or form believe that Rick Warren could even begin to fill Billy Graham's shoes or ever impact the world for Christ the way Billy Graham has. Nothing against him ... I just don't believe he is of the same caliber by any stretch of the imagination.
Addendum: Tony Miano, of The Lawman Chronicles, has a post regarding Rick Warren. I am not going to say anymore and give it away. Go read it for yourself. All I will say is that it left me speechless.

I can't see Warren as the next Billy Graham either.
I agree on the Warren front. I am also somewhat speechless after reading what Miano wrote. Whoa. Big whoa. I feel like Joey Lawrence right now.
