Ed Young Part II - The Rogue Angel

Ed Young Part II

Ed Young continued in the same vein as he did last week. Am I surprised? Why, no I'm not. After last week's service you would have to be an idiot to not know where he was going with it. So, vote JESUS (or in Ed Young political speak) ... vote Republican. Because we are not battling against flesh and blood. No we are battling against socialism ... oops, sorry ... I meant principalities.

I wonder if Jesus knew He was a member of a man-made political party or that one day Republicans would consider His call to care for the poor, the disabled, the elderly ... socialism? I am surprised he did not call Creation Care pure liberalism!

Ed Young & Sex from The Rogue Angel on November 25, 2008 3:38 PM

I wasn't going to say anything. I didn't want anyone to think I was picking on Ed Young after my last two posts about him (here and here). Luckily, I didn't have to. iMonk did it for me and is... Read More

I tuned in this morning after reading your post last week. I laughed when I saw you had predicted what he was going to say. It is a shame when preachers use the platform God gave them to push politics.

Wednesday can't get here fast enough.

sorry. i meant that for the post. i guess we were commenting at the same time.

Good stuff. Love your common sense blog! You have a good handle on the real forces at work. And you have some sass too!

I've got a post later today that says the reason government is so big is because the church is so small.

Funny... I didn't hear any mention of Republican or Democrat. I did hear, though, Ed mention important issues such as abortion and gay marriage. And if McCain happens to stand on the right side of those issues (wonder why it's called "the right"), oh well. I wonder if people would have the same issue with preacher speaking out on these issues if Obama stood on the right. Or (drum roll, please) if Obama was white and McCain was black. Just a thought.

And oh, by the way...I wonder where Jesus stands on those issues. Oh, yeah. He's already told us.

Yes, Jesus did tell us where He stands on the issues and John McCain nor Sarah Palin stand on one of the issues Jesus spoke about repeatedly. That would be the poor. Or what Republicans now call socialism.

I didn't vote for Barack Obama and he is against gays getting married. I also know that just because being a Republican is called being on the 'right' doesn't make them right. They are wrong on many issues. To think otherwise is not using your God given brain.

I think it might be a task in futility to explain to someone who thinks being Republican equates to being 'right' that Mr. Young did not need to mention any political party to make it clear which party he supported. But if I remember correctly, he did mention parties with his classy attire and excellent animal sounds.

Justin, I agree!

Thanks, Mandy :)

Thanks, David. :) I have been known to be a bit sassy at times (or as I have been told ... tact is for people that have not perfected sarcasm and I have no tact! LOL). I will check out your blog tomorrow. I am exhausted after my day and am ready to rest.

Andy, nice to meet you! Justin pretty much cleared up some of what I would have said. On the other ... I don't care who the preacher is or which party he advocates for ... it shouldn't be taken to his pulpit. Period. I find such tactics to be unethical, unholy, perverse, and to top it off ... emotional and spiritual abuse of his/her congregation.

As for Obama ... being black, white, purple ... it doesn't matter to me. I think it would be great if our country finally had a black man (or woman) for President ... but that does not give them any special priviledges in my book. I am married to a black man. I have black kids. I also have black in-laws. I am white. Black people are no mystery to me and definitely no better or worse than me.

Which is why I totally disagree with Obama regarding abortion. There are no free passes ... regardless of skin color. McCain ... he gets no free passes either. Just because I am white ... doesn't mean we are kinfolk. :)

Our blog, www.redletterbelievers.com has a new post, "Government will not save us."

(I had a bad link above)

Your comments on pro-life are spot on. How can you pretend to be for the people when you won't speak up for the smallest of these?
