It Is Getting Tight

Oil prices go through the roof. People can't afford to drive like they did before. People stop driving as much. Oil prices fall. Gas becomes more affordable after costing an arm and a leg for some time. So, what happens? OPEC cuts production to try and drive prices back up because ... you know ... they have to make boocoo bucks or they ain't happy. It isn't working though.

Economic crunch has families still holding tight to their money. Christmas is coming and a lot of people don't know what they are going to do. Local programs are getting cut like crazy ... including programs that help with Christmas. Food banks are struggling. People are living without heat. Utilities prices are still too high for many.

I am just waiting for it to be Bill Clinton's fault. It always is. :)

It is going to be a long cold winter. I doubt our economic situation will get better anytime soon. Christmas will be lean for alot of people I think. I doubt the republicans care as long as they are warm and cozy.

It is always Clinton's fault if the republicans mess up. Or didn't you know?! If they mess up they blame Clinton. Any good he did they take credit for. That is the way they play.

I am waiting for them to blame Clinton for McCain's indiscretions! LOL You wait, they will find a way. They would have strung Clinton up if they could have for him playing "hide the cigar" ... but you don't hear them saying anything about McCain. Instead they focus on Sarah Palin. :) If you didn't know any better, you would think it was her that Obama was running against.

Now, as for the Republican comment about not caring ... you know that you can't say that about all Republicans. I go to church with a few and some are quite caring and have a true heart for the poor.

I go to church with Senator John Thune (not to drop names, just to mention a Republican) whom I like and respect, and he knows me by name (probably because I'm pretty visible - I'm the regular electric guitarist at our church). He does care about the poor, but caring for the poor is not something that either political party can claim as one of their strong points - for that matter, I can't think of any single issue that all Democrats agree on or all Republicans do.

I didn't think Bill smoked :)

Just that once, Rick! LOL

I think each party has their strong points. Republicans do better on pro-life issues (when it comes to the life of the unborn) and the whole gay marriage thing. I think Democrats do better on helping the poor and protecting the environment. Now, if we could take the two things that the Republicans do pretty good at and the two things the Democrats do pretty good at and combine them ... I think we would actually have a party that at least attempts to represent Christian values.

Instead, we would rather just divide ... take sides ... and fight it out! Blue vs Red. Red vs Blue. My side is right. Your side is wrong! It is crazy. Neither party is a true Christian party and none of the candidates we have actually represent biblical Christian values.
