Ray Comfort, from Way Of The Master, has a contest going on for atheists over at his blog. All you have to do is write an article about why you do not believe in God in 200 words or less. The winner gets $100 and their article published. Runners up will also be published with a rebuttal by Ray himself.
It is going to be interesting.
I'm not an atheist. If I were an atheist, however, I'd be disinclined to join such a contest.
Why? If I were one I would do it. I could always use a $100 dollars just to spend. :)
Because I personally feel the contest is a stunt rather than a real invitation to dialogue. I prefer not to discuss my faith under those circumstances. I suspect I'd feel the same about sharing my lack of faith under those same circumstances.
I can understand that. Though, honestly, I think most of his commenters will do it. There are some pretty interesting atheists over there. Some of the things they say are just like, "whoa!" It cracks me up. Though, on the other side of it I feel bad for Ray because it his blog and they can heap some abuse when they want to! It amazes me just how much.
