Hiatus - The Rogue Angel

Hiatus

I am going on hiatus. I have been thinking about doing so for sometime now. I am getting kind of tired of having three different blogs and have been seriously considering combining all my blogs into ONE blog. Maybe this will be what I need to get that done. In the meantime I have moved all my posts into draft form. I will be spending the next few weeks going through them. Many of them will disappear permanently. Others will be reinstated.

See ya when I see ya ...

Update 12/25/05: Merry Christmas!!! I hope you have a joyous day. I am busy enjoying my hiatus. And, when I say "busy" I do mean busy. Oh and just for Becky: I cooked turkey (which was injected with real butter and spices), ham w/pineapple and cherries, chicken and dressing, brocolli and cheese casserole, sweet potato casserole, green beans w/potatoes, fried cabbage, mashed potatoes, corn, giblet gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce (didn't actually cook it), chess pie, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie. Pretty much the same meal that we had at Thanksgiving, minus a few side dishes. And, let me tell you ... it was delicious! The turkey was the best I ever made. I think everything turned out exceptionally well. :)

That I totally missed telling you guys about how I have been a nonsmoker for a year now? Oh yeah, I did. I was on hiatus and never stopped to tell you about it or give you the opportunity to... Read More

And I come here to wish your blog a happy birthday and now I find this... Well, if you stick to hiatuses for as long as I do, you'll be back in no time. I think my last hiatus lasted a grand total of three days. Heh.

As for database errors, I think everybody is getting those lately. My site was down for most of the day earlier this week because of two database crashes, and I was pissy about it. Should migrate over to a new database this weekend before I risk losing everything...

As for three blogs compared to one, I like one mind dump place. Except if I have something personal that I want to put into a Live Journal and control who reads it. But that's just me...

I don't know what I want to do. I feel like I am spending way too much time online and having three different blogs does not help at all (that does not count the blogs I guest blog on). I cannot stand it that I have separated myself into three components and mainly because I don't want my secular friends to trip over my religious posts and vice versa. It is hard to invite my religious friends to this blog because of some of it's content. If someone isn't complaining about my political posts, they are complaining about my personal posts, and if that doesn't get them going the religious posts do.

It all has me aggravated and I don't know what to do about it. But, I know I don't feel true to me with the way things are now. I am thinking a break would actually do me good and give me a chance to think about this and figure out what I want to do.

And, I think it will be a bit more than three days. :) But, thanks for the blog birthday wishes. I really appreciate them.

I've got a simple solution for not wanting friends to feel uncomfortable with my blog: I just don't talk about my blog with them. :) They know I have a blog and they'll go there if they want to, but... At least in my case, I also realize that I'm rather nuts and, while I agree with most of my friends on political matters, they aren't nearly as insane as I am. They have normal, non-blog lives and stuff. And that makes me rather jealous, but that's besides the point.

I know your situation is different and my little story probably hasn't helped you any, but I don't have any constructive advice so, uhm.. Sorry. I suck. I'll let you get back to your hiatus.

It's okay. :) And, that would help if it weren't for the fact that the "friends" I am referring to are the people that I have met online and who read my blog. Honestly, other than a couple of family members, most of my RT friends don't read my blog. Some of them know I have one, they just don't express much interest in it. Which, of course, can be a very good thing. LOL

What, you have three blogs? I don't blame you for taking a hiatus.

Happy Holidays, Angel! Hope that all of your bloggy blues are easily solved.

See you in January!

Yeah ... three. And, then I guest blog on a couple of blogs too. :) Somedays, I feel that all I do is blog! Dennis, I think I have lost my mind somedays! LOL

And, thanks, girl! I appreciate it. :)

gorl, you should be getting paid.

Hi :) I will wait patiently until January, no problem...but how do i tweak my membership so that i get only posts? I mean, I like to get 245 emails a day from you...but not every day. i would never work again....hey, maybe I am on to something ;)

I wish I could, Dennis! ;)

LOL@Holly! When you get one of those emails, at the bottom it will say: Manage Your Subscriptions and it will have a link right under it. Click that link and then click the word "Entries" and that will change your email setting so that you only get the posts and none of the comments. :)

Very nice new look! Well done!

HI!!! Site looks really good! Are you back yet, are you back yet, are you back yet?! :)

It's Christmas Eve here in Perth and I'm spending a little time dropping in on the blogs I regularly read. I wish you a very merry Christmas and I look forward to reading your blog in 2006.

I hope you're posting again very soon.

I had a hiatus but surgery fixed it. I can lift things again.

Merry Christmas Rogue & Family! I sure miss your blog at this time of year. At least let us know what you're making for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners! You have the yummiest ideas!

Thanks Angel! Sounds yummy!
