While reading, Why The Resurrection? by Greg Laurie, I came across this paragraph:
The reason people today say they don't believe that Jesus rose from the dead or don't believe in the teachings of Jesus is because they know, deep down inside, that if they believed these things, they would have to change the way that they live. Jesus said, "Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil." (John 3:19).
This is something I think about often. I know that it is true. It even applies to those that believe, but don't change the way they live. They love the darkness too much. The ways of Satan and the world appeals to them. They lust for the ways of the world and the ways of the world are the ways of darkness. Sin is darkness. Living sin is living in darkness.
We need to focus on being the children of Light, to love the Light, and live in the Light. Jesus is the Light!

Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Matthew 6:2 :)
